I've been saying Indiana is the best team in college football. Yes, the Hoosiers lost 19–15 to Ohio State on 17 October. But a potential game-winning touchdown was lost when the receiver could not complete the catch inbounds. FOOTWORK, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! You've got to finish the play!
Ohio State earned that victory. Give them their props. But four points is hardly a demolition job, and quarterback Julian Sayin's throwing-arm injury has made their path forward even more uncertain.
NOW LOOK AT 24 OCTOBER! UCF 39, No. 2 BYU 31 IN DOUBLE OVERTIME! Cincinnati 37, No. 8 Texas Tech 24! Texas 34, No. 7 Ole Miss 27! South Carolina 27, No. 11 Tennessee 24! Minnesota 13, No. 15 Iowa 10! Wisconsin 24, No. 16 USC 7!
And Indiana? The Hoosiers went into Michigan and won 13–6 in overtime. Was it pretty? NO! But they got the job done. Meanwhile No. 1 Miami took care of Pittsburgh 52–23.
The rankings don't win football games. The recruiting stars don't win football games. THE PLAYERS HAVE TO EXECUTE! And as the last two weeks have shown, NOBODY IS SAFE. Anybody can lose on any given Saturday!
